Terms of Service

Service Description

Texio is an AI-assisted academic document service that generates a Model Paper based on your specifications. A Model Paper is a structural learning reference — a high-quality academic template created to the exact specifications of your assignment. It is designed to be studied, adapted, and rewritten in your own words. It is not a finished submission.

Model Paper Definition

Texio produces a Model Paper — a structural learning reference — not a finished academic submission. Your document is designed to help you understand how to structure your own work: review the argumentation flow, citation approach, and section structure, then write your final submission in your own voice. Submitting a Texio document as your own work would violate academic integrity policies. Every order automatically includes an AI usage disclosure document.

User Responsibilities

By using Texio, you agree to use the Model Paper solely as a learning reference and not to submit it, in whole or in part, as your own original academic work. You are responsible for complying with your institution's academic integrity policies. You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.

Specifically, before submitting any output of the service, you are responsible for performing — at minimum — the following:

  • Verify every citation against the original source: confirm the source exists and that it supports the cited claim.
  • Replace any [Simulated] or [Example] markers with your own data, results, or evidence.
  • Rewrite passages in your own voice so the argumentation reflects your scholarly position.
  • Address the manual-correction items in the accompanying Quality Report ('How to finish the work' section).
  • Apply your institution's formatting and citation requirements, and attach the AI usage disclosure file when required.

Material you hand over

You confirm that the material you hand over is yours to hand over and does not contain sensitive information or details identifying other people. This service is not intended for such information. See the Privacy Policy for the full explanation and for what to do if your material does contain such details.

Cancellation Rights

Under German consumer protection law (Fernabsatzgesetz / BGB §356), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. However, for digital content where performance has begun with your explicit prior consent, the right of withdrawal expires once AI document generation has commenced. By proceeding with payment and acknowledging the cancellation disclosure, you explicitly consent to waiving your 14-day right of withdrawal once document generation begins. You will be asked to confirm this acknowledgment before payment is processed.

Refund Policy

If your document has significant quality issues that fall outside the scope of what a Model Paper is designed to deliver, please contact support. Each case is reviewed individually. Subjective preferences about writing style, topic scope disagreements, or changes of mind after generation has commenced are not grounds for a refund.

Translation services

For a translation order, a request qualifies when the deliverable has a technical fault: text that was omitted, left untranslated, or placed in the wrong location because of a processing fault; a deliverable that failed to generate, or is corrupt; or a deliverable that does not match the order, such as the wrong target language or the wrong scope.

We reprocess first: a qualifying fault is corrected by re-running the job at no additional charge. A refund is issued when reprocessing cannot fix the fault — the source file is unusable, or the same fault repeats on the re-run — or when the order could never have been delivered as described. Every refund is full: the service is sold as one package at one price, so there are no partial refunds.

A request must reach us within 14 days of delivery. This limit is physical rather than discretionary: your source file is deleted automatically 14 days after delivery, and once it is gone a re-run is impossible. You can also delete your files yourself before then, from your download page.

Anything outside that boundary is not grounds for reprocessing or a refund, including the exclusions listed later in these Terms. Two further limits are disclosed properties of the service rather than faults: text inside figures, charts, axis labels and legends is never translated, and layout fidelity and the searchable PDF are best-effort rather than a guaranteed reproduction.

There is no automated refund, no self-service refund and no refund button. Send your request through the contact form, quoting your order number and identifying it as a problem with a deliverable or a reprocess request. Each request is assessed individually against the boundary above, and an approved refund is issued manually.

AI Disclosure

Texio uses artificial intelligence to generate Model Papers. Every order includes a standard AI usage disclosure document as a deliverable. This document describes how AI was used in generating your structural template and is intended for transparency.

Translation Service

The following terms apply specifically to Texio's Translation service (document translation), in addition to the sections above. For matters concerning the Translation service, this section governs.

AI-Based Translation Process

Texio's Translation service produces translations using an AI-based process. Translations are generated automatically by machine translation and language models; they are not created or reviewed by a human translator as part of the standard service.

No Human Review

The Translation service does not include review of the translated output by a human translator or editor. The delivered document is the direct, unreviewed output of the AI-based process.

Limitation of Liability

Because the Translation service is AI-generated and not human-reviewed, Texio's liability for errors, omissions, mistranslations, or other defects in the translated output is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Texio does not guarantee that the translation is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose, and is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the translation without independent verification.

Your Responsibility to Review the Translation

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying the translated document before using it for any formal, official, legal, medical, immigration, academic-submission, or other high-stakes purpose. Texio recommends independent review by a qualified human translator before any such use.

Confidentiality and Rights in Uploaded Files

Files you upload for translation are processed solely to generate your translated document and are handled in accordance with Texio's Privacy Policy. You represent and warrant that you own, or otherwise hold the necessary rights and permissions to upload and have translated, the content you submit.

No Confidential or Personal Data

You must not upload files containing confidential information, trade secrets, or personal data. Compliance with applicable data-protection and confidentiality laws when uploading files is your sole responsibility; Texio does not verify the content of any upload.

Corrections, Refunds & Free Technical Reprocessing

If your translated document has a genuine technical defect (for example, missing text, corrupted output, or a processing error), Texio will provide free technical reprocessing of the affected file at no additional charge. Requests for free technical reprocessing must be submitted within the file retention window (files are automatically deleted 14 days after delivery, or sooner if you delete them yourself); Texio cannot reprocess files after they have been deleted. Refund requests are reviewed individually by Texio's team; refunds are not automatic or instant and are issued only where Texio approves the request after review.

Free technical reprocessing does not cover:

  • Style or wording preferences that do not reflect a technical error
  • Human proofreading or editing of the translated text
  • Certified translation (Texio does not provide certified translations)
  • Correction of handwriting-recognition errors from handwritten source material
  • Perfect reconstruction of text from low-quality or illegible scans
  • Manual editing or redrawing of charts, graphs, or diagrams

Layout and Formatting Preservation

Texio makes a best effort to preserve the layout, formatting, and structure of your original document in the translated output. Layout preservation is not guaranteed to be pixel-perfect, and some formatting, page breaks, tables, images, or charts may shift or require manual adjustment, particularly for complex layouts or scanned documents.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
